Artist Charles Jencks thinks that the most welcoming feature to have in a park is a hillside shaped like a thrown down woman. Is that the symbol the public wants to have of a park? Certainly if the giant green lady couldn’t fight becoming a victim, how are female patrons supposed to feel while walking through the park? You have to click the link to really get the feeling of your soul being consumed. This somewhat brutalist courthouse in Sao Paulo does not look welcoming at all. But then again I guess that’s the point. I feel like it should have gaurds wearing hulking, mechanical armored suits and such. And the Prison should be in the basement, and when the guilty verdict comes back the defendant is dropped into the jail. Well, at least, If I was the program manager, that’s how I would have done it.

Dinosaur Architect Oscar Neimeyer is still just as active as any other whipper snapper in the industry. Not only is he active, but he continues to design awesome things [I can get over the layout of Brasilia, can’t you?]. This auditorium is scheduled to complete this fall in Ravello, off the southern coast of Italy.
